Procurement Officer

Position Summary

 

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.). The Purchasing Officer should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you’re identifying the most profitable offers.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

 

  • • Research potential vendors and ensure procurement related matters are managed properly and timely manner
    • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
    • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
    • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
    • Review quality of purchased products and items
    • Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
    • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
    • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
    • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
    • create and maintain good relationships with suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.

Required skills (Education, experience, languages, and abilities)

 

  • Education: BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field.
  • Experiences: Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent or similar role.
  • Languages: English and Arabic are must, Turkish is a plus.
  • Other abilities:

1- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
2- Hands-on experience with purchasing software
3- Understanding of supply chain procedures
4- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
5- Negotiation skills
