Art Director

Position Summary

The Art director is responsible for the visual style and images in the company’s products. He creates the overall design and direct others who develop artwork or layouts.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

 

  • Determine how best to represent a concept visually
  • Determine which photographs, art, or other design elements to use
  • Develop the overall look or style of a publication, an advertising campaign, or a theater, television, or film set
  • Manage graphic designers, set and exhibit designers, or other design staff
  • Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by other staff members
  • Talk to clients to develop an artistic approach and style
  • Coordinate activities with other artistic and creative departments
  • Develop detailed budgets and timelines
  • Present designs to clients for approval

Required skills (Education, experience, languages, and abilities)

 

  • Education: BSc in Arts or fine arts
  • Experiences: 5 years’ experience in the art field, min 2 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Other abilities:
    • Hands on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection and package design
    • Proficient use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
    • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
    • Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well
    • Team player with strong communication and presentation skills
